And the Winner is.....

I'm sad that another season of my favorite show, Project Runway, has come to end but thrilled that another designer's dream has come true!  Michelle Lesniak Franklin of Portland, OR was the underdog many times but came back & killed it to take home the grand prize.  She designs from her heart & I love her strength & determination. Congratulations Michelle, can't wait to see more of your amazing work!

Closet Contentment

"True elegance consists of not having a closet bursting with clothes, but rather in having a few well-chosen items in which one feels totally at ease." -Coco Chanel

Well now that I'm all fresh faced & finger nailed it's time to tackle my closet for some much needed spring cleaning.  This may sound crazy but I don't even have doors on my closets, I find that they just get in the way & with all the time, effort & money spent on my clothes & shoes I want to admire them.  I am in desperate need of additional hangers but I refuse to buy them & instead have told myself I have to get rid of items to free up more hangers.  The adage of wearing 20% of your clothes 80% of the time is definitely true for me & I am striving for the well edited closet that Coco so wisely speaks of.  Wish me luck my friends, I'm going to need it!  These stunners are providing me with a lot of inspiration.....
Let's just shoot straight for the top- Aerin Lauder's Park Avenue dressing room is the holy grail of dressing rooms & launched a thousand tears from women everywhere, including me.  Now with her new lifestyle brand, Aerin, we can have a taste of her fantasy life with this turtle for $60.  Thanks Aerin, really, but not so much.  If you're selling timeshares in your dressing room though sign me up!  (In all seriousness I love smart, stylish & entrepreneurial women & think she rocks...& I ADORE turtles)

Here's another view.  As if it couldn't get any better you get to wear shiny dresses & play with dogs in here!

I've been drooling over this Nate Berkus designed dressing room since seeing it in Elle Décor a few years ago...all clothes in view, a vintage Baguès chandelier, a table for playing...this meets all of my requirements quite nicely.

There's nothing worse than digging through your jewelry box trying to find the necklace you're looking for only to find it broken & in a big jumble with five other necklaces.  One of the best things I did was to create a cork jewelry wall & using simple clear push pins I hung all of my necklaces, bracelets, earrings & watches on it.  It's fun to see all of your pieces on display & makes accessorizing a snap.  I'll show y'all a picture when it's looking a little nicer  (i.e. it currently does not look like the above photo with hand written love notes interspersed.  I mean I'm not promising that but it does need to be cleaned up a bit.)

A fireplace AND all those shoes??  I don't smoke but would need a drag off of Jenna's cigarette from all the excitement....

HAPPY SPRING!!!
